The best dog park in New Orleans, NOLA City Bark is a 4.6-acre keycard-access dog park in New Orleans City Park with separate play areas for small and large dogs, featuring water fountains, shade pavilions, waste cleanup stations, and on-site restrooms.
While some park goers socialize while their dogs run, the walking path is popular among regulars who like to get there steps in, burning calories while their dogs play.
The park is closed Tuesday mornings for maintenance, it opens in the afternoon.
Updated October 2026: The park has moved toward a digital access pass which can be accessed through your membership portal on the website. Instead of a physical key card you must carry, your digital access pass has a bar code that can be used to access any City Park events your membership accesses, including entry to NOLA City Bark.
Permits are required for all dogs to ensure proper vaccination and spay/neuter status. They can be acquired through the Park Office located in City Park at 1 Palm Drive. Documents are often accepted via email.
